Domingue has looked very shaky so far, Coyotes surely deserved more points

So Vegas has a brand new team with very few ever playing together and they're able to stay at the top. Even with MAF on IR they are able to win as a team with Malcom Subban in the crease so please accept my apologies for another year of horrible management.

NHL is league based off results. Results > Process.

They'll probably start winning a few games once Raanta comes back. Domingue isn't very good.

Everything is based off results, as far as final tallies go.

However, if you want to improve your team, you shouldn't care about them.

James, in your article yesterday you criticized both Montreal and Edmonton's management harshly for their poor starts to the season. However both teams have been performing in your idea of process > results (MTL - CF% 57.6 & EDM CF% 59.6) and have gotten extremely unlucky (MTL - PDO 90.5 & EDM-PDO 94.5).

Can you please justify your reasoning for why you harshly criticize these two while you give Arizona praise for having a even worse process and being luckier than these teams?

Both the Canadiens and the Oilers deserve my criticism for the horrifying jobs their GMs have done. I didn't criticize their actual play on the ice.

To be honest I am a little surprised by two things so far this year. The Yotes sure looked exciting on paper but in reality nothing has changed yet. The Vegas team is a huge surprise and I do not think it will last. They are definitely playing a team game and are doing a great job of shutting down the opposition so far. I also think the loss of Niskanen will hurt the caps goaltenders stats. Alzner and Niskanen can make a goalie look pretty dam good. Just my thoughts for the morning, will have more later today

But if their teams are performing with outstanding shot based statistics that you claim make a great team, doesn't that mean they have done a great job?

Maybe they make the playoffs if they trade D.Strome (future Tavares) for John Tavares (Current Tavares)? Im Sure NYI is missing having a Strome on the team.

I don't think so, no. The Oilers replaced Eberle and Hall with Larson and Strome. That is brutal. They gave #1 overall pick Yakupov away for nothing. They have done a terrible job, but the fact is, they were gifted McDavid, Klefbom and Draisaitl and that alone makes them an OK team.

Just because they aren't as good as they could have been doesn't mean they're complete crap, and just because their GM has done terrible, doesn't mean they can't do alright regardless. I think the criticism is warranted.

As for the Habs, Marc Bergevin is about as bad as Chiarelli. They also have a recent history of alienating good players and jettisoning talent to appease a coach who is soon going to be fired (along with the inept GM). But this doesn't mean they can' t get by on a Weber-Price-Drouin-Pacc-Galchenyuk Core - it's a good, even great core. It's just not as good as they could be if they were run by someone competent, like me.

All I know is make sure you have a goalie and some players capable of getting high-danger chances.

It's incredibly frustrating watching a team lob 30 forty foot shots at a goalie and losing 2-1

I mean, the new coach felt like he had to come out and apologize to the fans. But the coach needs to chill. No apology is needed. The Coyotes were losing while playing Shane Doan and Radim Vbrata in place of developing their prospects. That deserves an apology.

As Babcock said to Leafs Nation pain is coming. The pain is already there in Coyote land. Hopefully the suffering will end soon.
